Absolutely, if you value rich storytelling and atmospheric world-building over pure action. Requiem is a premium narrative adventure with stunning visuals, a deeply emotional and harrowing story, and refined gameplay. While its linear nature and intense themes aren't for everyone, the experience is unforgettable. It's a must-buy for fans of the first game and players seeking a mature, cinematic journey, though consider waiting for a sale if you're hesitant about its specific genre blend.
A single playthrough of the main story takes approximately 15 to 18 hours. Completionists looking to find all collectibles, upgrades, and secrets can expect to spend around 20 to 25 hours. The game is linear and story-focused, so playtime doesn't vary wildly. The pacing is deliberate, allowing you to soak in the environments and narrative, making the length feel appropriate for its epic and emotional scope.
No, A Plague Tale: Requiem is a strictly single-player experience. The entire narrative is built around controlling Amicia and her symbiotic relationship with her brother, Hugo, who is controlled by the game's AI. The core themes of protection, family, and shared trauma are deeply personal and designed for a solitary, immersive experience. There is no cooperative or competitive multiplayer mode of any kind.
A Plague Tale: Requiem launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch (via Cloud). It is also available on Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and Cloud from day one. There are no announced plans for last-generation consoles (PS4, Xbox One) or other platforms. Subscribers should check the service as titles can rotate, but it has been a staple since release.

However, Requiem leans more into historical fantasy and environmental puzzle-solving with its rat horde mechanics, whereas The Last of Us is a grounded survival-action game with more robust combat. Requiem's gameplay is more stealth-and-crafting focused, with less enemy variety. Tonally, both are bleak, but Requiem's setting in 14th-century France offers a unique, visually stunning backdrop distinct from TLOU's modern decay.
