1 Where our data comes from

System requirements

Sourced directly from the Steam API or official publisher pages. When sourced from Steam, we display a "Sourced from Steam" badge. We do not fabricate or estimate system requirements.

Software ratings

Where available, ratings are sourced from G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, or Product Hunt and attributed to their source. If we have no third-party rating data, we display no rating — we never show a made-up number.

Game ratings

Game review scores come from Steam (review sentiment like "Very Positive") and Metacritic (critic scores), fetched via their public APIs. For games not on Steam, we use IGDB data from the Twitch API.

Pricing

Pricing is manually verified against official pricing pages on a regular basis. Each pricing entry shows a "Verified on [date]" label. If pricing has not been verified recently, we display a warning and link directly to the official pricing page.

Our written reviews, pros/cons lists, product introductions, FAQ answers, and comparison verdicts represent the editorial opinion of the TheTechVerdict team based on:

Feature analysis from official product documentation and demos
Pricing research against similar tools in the same category
Public information from product websites, changelogs, and release notes
Aggregated public sentiment from review platforms (G2, Capterra, Steam)

3 How rankings work

Rankings on TheTechVerdict are based on a combination of: third-party review scores (where available), feature completeness, pricing value, and editorial assessment. Featured products may appear prominently in some lists — see our affiliate disclosure for details.

We do not sell ranking positions. Products featured with an "affiliate link" label earn us a commission if you click and purchase — this does not influence where they rank in our editorial assessments.
